Tribute & Message From The Family
Mildred "Millie" Jean Bridgewater 88 of Indio Hills, CA was born in Terre Haute Indiana on October 21, 1929. She once owned a janitorial service, worked at Gemco, and retired from Target where she worked as a phone operator for many years.
She loved to read, garden, bowl, play bunco, go to lunch, and play cards, which earned her the nickname of "Card Granny". She never met a person she didn't like and she met many due to her gift of gab, which we all seemed to have inherited from her. She had the biggest, most loving heart and how it fit in that little 4' 8" frame is a mystery. She never hung up the phone or walked away without first saying "I love you," and we loved her in return, more than what can be measured. We have lost the Matriarch of our family, and our greatest friend. She was lovingly called "Grandma" by many and when given such a precious gift, it was only right that we share her. She was preceded in death by her sons Jerry Bridgewater of Indio and Kim Bridgewater of Indio Hills.
She is survived by her sister Mary Ruth Mier (David) of Indiana, her children Jean Humphries (Allen) of Arkansas, Paul Bridgewater of New York, and Harriet Macknicki of Coachella, Her grandchildren Tina Alvidrez (Alfredo) of Palm Desert, Jamie Macknicki (Ken) of Indio Hills, Sandra Escobar of Arkansas, Sherrie Wolfe (Jim) of Texas, Jacob Macknicki (Jayme) of Indio, Matthew Bridgewater of San Diego, Kory Bridgewater of Indio, and 12 great grandchildren who were the light of her life.
A celebration of her life will be on Saturday December 2, 2017 at 10:00 am at Destiny Church 82545 Showcase Pkwy, Indio, CA
FitzHenry-Wiefels Indio has been entrusted with arrangements.

I called my Aunt Millie "Aunt Sillie," but she was anything but. When she and my Mom, her sister, were together I called them "Heckle and Jeckle" after the cartoon birds. She ended all our conversations with "love you madly," and she truly did love all of those who were dear to her with a fierce and mad love. She will be inside me forever.

To The Bridgewater Family,
I meet Millie in 1967 when I was 17 and I will always
remembering entering that friendship and most of
all becoming a part of the family by adoption. Such a wonderful person. She reminded me of my Mom
who she met. They were the same height and two
power balls for their size.
Heaven will never be the same. Love ya Millie I miss see you at the Bowling Alley. R.I.P...
Their is now a bowling league in Heaven's.
