Benedetto (Benny) Salvatore Pasciuto passed away quietly on April 20, 2016.
Benny Pasciuto was born on June 13, 1931 in Gaeta, Italy. His family immigrated to the United States via Ellis Island at the age of 5, where his family settled in Brooklyn, New York. Benny was a Korean War Veteran who served as a military policeman until 1952. Soon thereafter, he met the love of his life, Angelina Ingrassia and they were married in 1955. To find better opportunities, the family moved to California in 1961 and settled in beautiful San Pedro in 1963. Benny was an all around aficionado on anything mechanical, especially auto mechanics. He opened his own repair shop, Bel Air Automotive in San Pedro as well as having a successful Matco Tool distributorship for over 30 years. He loved all types of sports and was a loyal Los Angeles Dodger baseball fan. He loved to go bowling and was good enough to be asked several times to turn professional on the PBA Tour. He thought the commitment of being away from family was too large and decided his family was more important. Ben had a sense of humor unmatched by others as well as a passion for airplanes. He was an avid pilot and owned his own plane, where he could travel to various destinations at a moments notice. Upon retiring, Benny and Angela moved to Palm Desert to enjoy the rest of their years together enjoying life with family and friends.
Benny is survived by his wife Angela, his son Anthony (Christina) Pasciuto of Murrieta, CA; daughter Maria (Mauricio) Salazar of Manhattan Beach, CA; his loving grandchildren Danielle Ciullo (Joseph), Liza Pasciuto, Andrew Pasciuto, Dagny Ysais, Nikolas Salazar, Bella Salazar, and his great grandchildren, Gianna and Ava Ciullo. Also his sisters, Alma Donofrio, Evelyn Rogers; dear sister-in-laws; Anne (Michael) DeSanto, Josephine (Paul) Bua, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 43775 Deep Canyon Road; Palm Desert CA 92260. After Mass, burial will be at Palm Springs Cemetery (Desert Memorial Park), 31705 Da Vall Drive, Cathedral City, CA 92234.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in the name of Benny S. Pasciuto to St. Jude Children's Hospital at
