Bernard "Bern" Lewis Porchenick of La Quinta, California, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California.
He was born November 28, 1938 in Jamaica Queens, New York to Samuel and Laura (Schlossberg) Porchenick. He achieved a Master's Degree in Finance from Pace University in Manhattan. His entrepreneurial spirit resulted in multiple successful companies and a lifetime fulfilling his passions.
In 1980, he married his wife of 37 years, Barbara Olitch and together they traveled the world, drove exotic cars and loved spending time with family, friends and many dogs.
Bern is survived by his loving wife Barbara, two daughters: Sara and Amy; two sons, Marc and Michael; son-in-laws, Thomas and Craig; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-laws, Gordon and Maureen, Lorna and David.
A Celebration of Bern's life will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort between 1 and 4pm.
Donations may be made on his behalf to Animal Samaritans of the Coachella Valley.
