Celia Quintero of Indio, CA was called home to be with the Lord on 2/23/16 surrounded by the love of her life and family. She was born on October 29th to Gabriel Arias and Mercedes Ortiz in Fullerton, CA. She married Joe A. Quintero on 6/28/58 in Coachella, CA. Celia was a loving mother to many in our community as a babysitter, foster care provider, mother to her children, grandmother and great-grandmother. Once her children were grown she was a teacher's aide with DSUSD for a few years. In her early years she worked at Valerie Jean's, McIntosh Pharmacy, and Savers Drug store in Coachella.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years Joe A. Quintero and her legacy includes her children: Sandra (Barry) Grace of Livermore, Joe (Regina) of Indio, Sheila (Tom) Brewster of La Quinta, and John (Rosa) of Indio, CA. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her siblings Lucy Perez, Ruben Arias, Robert Arias, Hector Arias, and Alice Torres. Surviving siblings are Raul Arias, Rudy Arias, and Irene Chavez. She will be forever missed by her family and all those that knew her. Visitation will be at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church, Indio, CA. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the hour of 10:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be said at the hour of 11:30 a.m. and Mass will be held at the hour of 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at the Coachella Valley Cemetery.
