Cheri M. Bentley-Buckman
09/01/1941 - 10/21/2017

Cheri M. Bentley-Buckman of Palm Springs, CA and Idyllwild, CA passed away October 21, 2017. Born in Kilgore, TX, she was an avid writer/poet and was published in several journals. Cheri was passionate about the Idyllwild Arts Academy and was on their board of trustees since 2007. She was an active member of Summer Poetry in Idyllwild, Palm Springs Writer's Guild, National League of American Pen Women, and Romance Writers of America. Cheri was also an ER and trauma volunteer at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.

Cheri is survived by her husband Charles Buckman, children Hartwell Bentley and Deborah (Bentley) Mattern, stepchildren Karl Buckman and Kim Buckman, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at the Idyllwild Arts Center at 11:30 AM on Saturday, November 18th. In lieu of flowers, tax-deductible donations may be made to Idyllwild Arts at www.idyllwildarts.org/giving/.
