EDWILYN "JEANNE" AHRENS
1927 – 2016
Passed away on January 24, 2016 at her home in Palm Desert, California.
Jeanne was born in Inglewood, California November 21, 1927 to Edward and Kathryn Killel. She was married to Allen Ahrens.
Jeanne worked for many years for Holiday Realty. The job she enjoyed most was with Sun World in Coachella, an agricultural firm since its inception in 1975. She handled their patents and trademarks and was able to register the Sun World brand in over 100 countries internationally. She retired in 1995.
She volunteered for many charitable events. She worked for many years in the gift shop at the Living Desert. She was a member of the Indio, Palm Desert, and La Quinta Historical Societies.
She was a member originally of the Soroptimist International of Coachella Valley. She later moved her membership to the Soroptimist International of Palm Desert. She was made a Life Member for her work and 30 years of service time given to Soroptimist.
She was one of the founding Members of the East Valley Republican Women's Club.
She is survived by her Sister-in-Law, Barbara Killel and her nephew Adam Killel. Along with many Special Friends in her life.
Visitation to Jeanne can be made at Hope Lutheran Church, 45900 Portola Avenue. From 10:00 to 11:15 – Thursday morning, January 28.
Interment will be held at Coachella Valley Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
Memorial Service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church at 2:30 p.m. January 28th. 45900 Portola Avenue (corner of Portola and Fairway Drive). Reception following.
In lieu of flowers it is suggested Memorials be sent to Jeanne's Soroptimist International of Palm Desert. PO Box 13997 Palm Desert, CA 92255 or Hope Lutheran Church.
