Evelyn Grace Thompson age 96 passed away peacefully on May 13, 2016, in Rancho Mirage, Ca.
Born in Tucson, Arizona on July 10, 1919, to George and Rosetta Boomer; she came to Indio, Ca. in 1920.
She married her husband Russell Thompson October 4, 1941.
She attended local elementary schools in the Valley and graduated from Coachella Valley School in 1937.
She worked for Desert Sands School District as an accountant for over 33 years. She was a member of the Eastern Stars in Coachella
and also The Rebekah's.
Evelyn is survived by her son Paul (Nancy) Thompson of Indio,Ca. and four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Russell in 1989 and her daughter Roselyn Gay and her parents.
The family would like to thank all the Care Givers with Omega Hospice and Lisa Ziomek of Covenant Senior Care for their wonderful care and attention given
to Evelyn.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 11:00 am, at Shepherd of the Valley Methodist Church in Indio, Ca.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Coachella Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to THE HERITAGE FUND at The Coachella Valley Historical Museum would be appreciated.
