Gary L. Privetts, 69, died on January 8, 2017 after a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Disease.
He was born in Roswell, New Mexico on December 21, 1947, son of Leonard and Maudine Privetts.
Survivors include his wife Gail of 30 years, their adoptive grandson Adam Harper, Stepsons Todd and Troy Williams, Daughter Gwyn Young, Son in law Jon Young, grandsons Rhys and Logan Young. Gary's Sisters Marion Englund, Elizabeth Romero, and brother Larry Privetts.
Gary was a graduate of Vista High School in 1965, before joining the US Navy. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged from the US Navy in 1969, where he served on the USS Ticonderoga.
Gary will be remembered for his exceptional work ethic always smiling upbeat attitude engaging people, making him a natural sales man. Gary's quote, "I don't want to do it if I'm not having fun".
A significant portion of his life was working with his wife, Gail travelling and selling at trade shows.
He retired in 2009 as an Auditor Controller, working for the County of San Diego.
Throughout Gary's life he had a passion for photography. He was always behind the camera at family gatherings and special events.
Gary was cremated and there will be a full Burial at Sea honoring his service with the US Navy along with other Veterans who have served our country.
The Family will honor him with a private gathering celebrating his life where he lived since 2012 at Oceanside, Ca.
