Jack passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 after a long, community based life. His sociable personality and contagious laugh was with him till the end. Jack was born in Lodi, California and grew up in the Coachella Valley. He was a proud graduate of CVHS, and still was serving as an active alumni. Although Jack did not serve in the military, his patriotic side was very strong as he help plan and co-ordinate the annual Memorial Day Service and Veterans Day services at Coachella Valley Cemetery. His faith in God was shown in his compassion and actions designing of Remembrance Services at the funeral home and most recently as a director of the creative ministry, "Hands on High" puppet and motion choir. Jack has been active in the Valley all his life, working as the leader of Indio Daily Newspaper deliver Dept., Aladdin's Theater of Indio, Indio Police Department, FitzHenry Funeral Homes, security/bus driver for CV Unified School District and FitzHenry-Wiefels, Indio. Jack is survived by his sisters, Barbara Argleben and Carolyn (Ernest) Alloway; his sons: Jorge (Sarah) Mejia and grandchildren: Arianna, Isaias, the light of his life, Jordan of Indio, and Joey Villa of Banning, along with many nieces and nephews, as well as his Indio community family. Jack loved family and it was obvious as everyone considered him "Uncle" Jack as he became a member of every family he served at the funeral home.
Services will be held on January 5, 2018 at Destiny Church, Indio with visitation from 9:30AM – 11:30AM; service at 11:30AM and then interment next to his mother and sister at Coachella Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Destiny Church or Hands on High Ministry. FitzHenry-Wiefels has been entrusted with arrangements.
