Jean MacQueen Burgner was born in Lansing, Michigan in 1926 to Donald and Harriet MacQueen and passed away September 7, 2017 at Hoag Hospital, Newport Beach, of complications from pneumonia. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Paul Burgner and his wife Karyn and Daniel Burgner and his wife Cathy. She has four grandchildren, Michelle Wong, Brooke Subert, Matthew Burgner and Edward Burgner and two great grandsons, Jackson Burgner and Grayson Subert.

She moved from Michigan with her mother and sister when she was four years old and has been a California native since. She attended University High School in Los Angeles and then went to Mills College. She worked with the USO during the war and then moved with her family to Lake Arrowhead in 1961 and was acting postmaster at Cedar Glen and Blue Jay Post Offices. She retired from the Post Office and moved to Palm Desert Country Club area, then later moved to The Fountains at Carlotta Palm Desert and then to Crown Cove, Corona del Mar. She was especially thankful for the great people she met through her life that supported and helped her through her later years.

She belonged to Daughters of the American Revolution Association and was active in many square dance organizations. She traveled extensively, but always loved the Lake Arrowhead area.

A private service in Lake Arrowhead with her immediate family is planned.
