In memory of John Charles Nash, long-time resident of Rancho Las Palmas Country Club, who passed away on February 15, 2016. John was graced with ninety years of life and achieved many accomplishments during his journey. At the age of fifteen and a half, he completed his first solo flight in an airplane; at age seventeen, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served during WW II. After completing his military service, he met and married Agnes. They were married for almost sixty-six years and were blessed with three sons. John worked as an airline mechanic and then as a commercial airline pilot flying the venerable DC-3 throughout the mid-west air routes during the early days of commercial aviation. John and Agnes moved their family to California in 1959 and John's association with the airline industry led him to his final career as a Teamsters Union organizer, Charter Executive for Teamster airline Local 2707 and finally as Vice President for Local 986. After their retirement, John and Agnes engaged in many activities at Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert and demonstrated their deep devotion to their Catholic faith. John and Agnes are now back together for eternity in the loving care of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 am, Friday, February 26, 2016, followed by internment at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cathedral City, CA. FitzHenry-Wiefels Palm Desert has been entrusted with arrangements.
