Kevin Bryant Whitehurst was born on August 27, 1959 in Norfolk, Virginia to Jack L. and Claudine L. Whitehurst. The family resided in Jamaica Queens, New York, where he attended Edison High School, Queens College, and New York City College. Kevin entered into the Marine Corps where he traveled extensively and received many awards. Kevin retired from the Marine Corps in 1999 after 20 years of dedicated service. Kevin and his family decided to stay in the desert where he helped to create a business originally called The High-Desert Homes and Land Pictorial, now known as the Desert Communities Real Estate Pictorial’s first publication was on April 22, 2004. He loved his worked and was well known for work ethics throughout the community.

Kevin met Rockell E. Hyman in September 1975. On July 16, 1983 he married her. the love of his life. He was a devoted father to two daughters who were born from this union: Kerrisa Banee` (23 years old) and Kelysha Betrice (19 years old). This union remained 27 years and they were separated only when God called him home. He was a great son and brother.

Kevin shared with his family and close friends that he had an encounter with the Lord and he accepted the Lord as his savior on July 23, 2010, which also happened to be his father’s birthday. Upon receiving the Lord he had a special memento made to remind him of God’s Love for him, which he wore daily.

Now Kevin is with Lord. He was preceded by his father, Jack L. Whitehurst. He leaves to preserve his legacy his loving wife Rockell Whitehurst, daughters Kerrisa and Kelysha Whitehurst, mother Claudine Whitehurst, sister Jacquelyn Whitehurst, mother in law Harriette Rivera, sisters and brothers in laws, a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews and many other close family members and friends.
