Mary "Jane" Livreri (nee Del Guidice) age 71, born in Ozone Park, New York, on December 12, 1943 passed away on July 25, 2015 surrounded by her loving children, brother and close friends.
Jane is survived by her four children, Peter (Karen), John, Robert Livreri and her daughter Kim Livreri-Bradbury.
Jane was a loving grandmother to Peter, Elisa, Alex, Anthony, Natalie, Giovanni, Neiko, Robert, Chad, Alan and Shannon. Jane was a beloved sister to Mario Del Guidice and a loving Aunt to Peter, Matthew and Darlene. Jane is survived by grandnieces and nephews and many cousins in New York. She is predeceased by her parents, Virginia and Peter Del Guidice.
The Livreri family moved from Lindenhurst, New York to Palm Springs in 1973. Shortly after that Livreri's Italian Restaurant was established and in Palm Springs for 32 years. It has been a landmark in our desert. The restaurant relocated from Palm Springs to Palm Desert. Mama Livreri's was one of the finest Italian restaurants in our beautiful desert oasis.
After 40 years, closing their "celebrity room" her son Robert Livreri is now carrying on the tradition at Livreri's Bella Napoli in Rancho Mirage. Jane prided herself in feeding everyone. (She had a special place in her heart for Frank Sinatra as they shared the same birth date – Dec. 12).
Livreri's was one of the first vendors at the Thursday night Street Fair in Palm Springs.
Jane participated in such charities as the Italian Fest and on many committees as United Way, Aids Foundation, YMCA, Desert Arc, City of Hope and made many meals for Xavier High School Football Team. To Jane, family was EVERYTHING! She was dedicated to her family, loved ones and made many friends with her warm smile and loving heart. When not cooking or managing the restaurant, Jane was an extremely avid Mah Jong player and an excellent one at that.
Jane attended Sacred Heart Church with her grandchildren who attend the school.
Services will be held Monday, August 3, 2015 at 10AM at Sacred Heart Church, Fred Waring and Deep Canyon in Palm Desert. A celebration of Life and reception will be held immediately following in the Salta Pastoral Center on the church property.
