Robert E. Rosenberger passed away on June 5, 2017 in Palm Desert, California at the age of 88. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 8, 1928 to Russell and Dawn Rosenberger. At the age of seven he moved with his parents to California.
Robert graduated from the University of Redlands in 1950 and married the love of his life, Beverly, later that year. In 1951, he was inducted into the United States Army, and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in the Korean War. Robert's professional career as an educator spanned 31 years with 28 years in the Coachella Valley Unified School District as an administrator, retiring in 1984. He earned a Master's Degree in Education. After retirement he mentored and evaluated student teachers at California State University San Bernardino.
His service to the community included Scout Master, Boy Scouts of America, Head Marshall, Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, President Bull Dog Bench U of R, Rotary, and Indio Hospital Board Member.
Robert enjoyed sports, particularly basketball, earning State Conference Championships in college his Junior and Senior years. In 2003 he was inducted into the University of Redlands Athletic Hall of Fame. Golf was a later passion.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Beverly and son Richard. He is survived by his four children: Debra Mulrooney, Judith Parker (Steve), Cheryl Noall (Robert), and Ronald Rosenberger (Lynette), eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, June 16, 9am at the Coachella Valley Cemetery.
